Why you should schedule an eye appointment now and put your FSA Funds to good use

With the new year approaching, Best In Sight Eye Care sees a rush of patients in December. Because of this, it can be difficult to make an appointment during these busy weeks, so we encourage you to look into what FSA Funds and insurance you have available before the end of the year in preparation to book an appointment.

What is an FSA?

An FSA or Flexible Spending Account is a benefit commonly offered by employers that allows you to place money from each paycheck into an account that can be used for medical expenses throughout the year.

Why do I need to make an appointment now?

Though it may seem premature to make an appointment this early, it would help ensure there is availability to see you, and that your insurance benefits and FSA may run out before the appointment.

Some employers offer an FSA that allows up to $500 to be carried into the next year, if you’re enrolled in this type of plan then you just need to get your balance under $500. But if the balance in your FSA is above $500 after December 31st, you could lose it all. Contact your employer or HR manager to learn more about your benefits.

Regardless of your FSA and Insurance status, it’s in the best interest of your vision health to create an eye appointment before the end of the year.
